1st XV make it through to the second round of the WRU Bowl

South Gower 1st XV have made it through to the second round of the WRU National Bowl after a tightly contested match against local rivals, Fall Bay.

South Gower made it two victories in two weeks against their Gower neighbours, following a 51-3 victory last week at Pwll Du Lane.

Gower took the lead early in the first half with intense pressure in the Fall Bay 22, saw Ross Greenwood dot down under the posts from a great running line. The try was converted by Ieuan Stichbury.

Shortly after, Fall Bay turned the pressure and spent several minutes camped on the Gower try line but couldn't convert the pressure into points.

It wasn't long before Fall Bay were back in the South Gower 22, but this time went crashing over the line for their own converted try.

The score was tied at 10-10 for the majority of the second half with Gower unable to convert many opportunitues to put the game to bed before full-back, Josh Humphreys went over in the corner from a set piece move.

Club Captain Ben Davies reflected on the game;

It was a tough afternoon in Fall Bay, they were a different animal to what we faced last week at home. We are obviously happy to come away with the win and to be in the second round of the bowl but we have to keep working and improving to continue our early form in the league.

Final Score;

The 1XV travel to Pantyffynon RFC next week looking for their 3rd league win of the season.
